I never like the about me bit but…,

I’m calm by nature, quietly observant, and I care how people feel, that’s why this job suits me.

I’m Ben, hi,

I know it’s strange inviting someone you don’t really know into one of the most important, emotionally charged days of your life. And you’ve got to pick this person to not only take amazing photos but get on with your family, dogs, friends and if you’ve got one, the vicar. Most couples I work with care deeply about their photographs — but they also care about how the day feels. They want to feel comfortable, understood, and free to be themselves while knowing the moments that matter will be noticed and captured so they can relax and live their day.

That’s where I come in.

I pay attention.

I notice what’s going on beneath the surface. I step in when it’s useful and disappear when it’s not. I’m calm when things are busy, steady when emotions run high, and never interested in turning your wedding into a performance. Weddings are full of energy, emotion, and moving parts — and a good wedding photographer needs to be dynamic and very comfortable working within that.

I’m good if you’ve got nerves, there are tears, loud families, quiet moments, and everything else in between. I won’t rush you, pose you endlessly, or manufacture moments. My job is to make sure you feel looked after, and in good hands — I help the day unfold naturally while I capture what it actually felt like to be there.

Away from weddings,

I’m usually outdoors, building things, traveling, or spending time with friends bouldering and surfing or my latest, snowboarding. I like work that’s physical, honest, and well made — and I bring that same mindset to photographing weddings.
